REGISTRATION FOR FALL 2016

COMING SOON!

COACHES AND VOLUNTEERS MUST COMPLETE BACKGROUND CHECKS - PLEASE READ BELOW

The PA Child Protective Services Law changed recently. The change requires all coaches and volunteers involved with youth organizations to complete a State Police Criminal Record Check and a PA Child Abuse History Clearance.  Those individuals who have not resided in PA continuously for the previous 10 years must also complete an FBI Criminal Background Check.

Once you have completed these forms, please mail them to clearances@qvra.org

If you have already completed any of these for another club, sport or school district, the clearances are portable and we will just need a copy.

Compliance is easy.  Just follow these steps:

1. PA State Police Clearance - click the following link to complete: https://epatch.state.pa.us/Home.jsp

Time: Usually instant approval.  Have to renew every 3 years.

2. PA Child Abuse Clearance - click the following link to complete:  https://www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis/public/home

Cost $8

Time: Typically 14 days for approval, but possibly longer.

3. FBI Background Check - (DO NOT NEED TO COMPLETE if lived in PA for at least 10 years).

Click the following link for the FBI check: https://www.pa.cogentid.com/index_dpw.htm

Cost: $27.50. Time: About 3 weeks for approval. You will need to register online first and then go get fingerprinted at an approved location. Have to renew every 3 years.

Please note: You must first register at www.pa.cogentid.com or by calling 888-439-2486.

Cogent will then assign a Registration ID Number to you, beginning with the letters "PAE." This ID is important and you should keep track of this number, as you will need it when you get fingerprints done. This is also the ID you will need to provide to QVRA so we may obtain your FBI clearance.

Once you have a registration ID you can go to a valid location and have fingerprints taken. The locations can be found at www.pa.cogentid.com

Note: if you have lived in PA continuously for at least 10 years you do not need to complete the FBI Background Check.  However, you will need to complete an affirmation of residency, which can be found HERE.
